Robotic care bear.

In Japan the people are facing a aging population. Which mean that there's more people that are in need of care and less people that can provide the help so Japan found a solution to their little problem. The solution to the problem is a robotic care bear. This robotic bear was created by the RIKEN and Sumitomo Riko Company. The bear is an experimental nursing care robot combines advance robotics and a non-threatening design. This robot not only going to make up for shortage of carers but to save human personal from having to carry out strenuous tasks such as lifting a patients out of bed and in to a wheelchair about 40 times a day. the bear will be able to help patients out of bed, stand and turn to prevent bed sore. The robots weights about 308 lb but to RIBA-2's weights about 507 lb so it'll be no problem lifting patients every single day. According to RIKEN the robot have improved is has very low gear ratio actuators  that makes it joints fast to responded. They also have a backdrivability- In other words a feedback mechanism that makes softer movement. the robot bear also haves torque sensors and smart rubber capacitance-type tactile sensors for gentle movement.
